County Department of Job & Family Services
The Allen
County Department of Job and Family Services' goal is to assist individuals
in attaining self-sufficiency and personal responsibility. The agency
offers many programs to accomplish this goal. The more commonly known
programs are the Food Stamp and Medicaid programs. However, there are
many other programs, such as childcare and transportation, which can
assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient. The agency also has programs
that many people are not aware of. There are two divisions that administer
programs. A partial listing of services follows.

Mission
Statement
The
Allen County Department of Job & Family Services administers
programs that provide health care, child care, employment, training,
workforce development and economic assistance to families, children
and adults. These programs and services are designed to help Allen
County residents be healthy and safe while gaining and maintaining
self-sufficiency and independence, and are provided in a manner
that recognizes and preserves individual rights, responsibilities
and dignity. Through local partnerships, the Allen County Department
of Job & Family Services contributes to a skilled workforce,
healthy families, successful businesses and a strong community.
